Normie Shakes Halcyon Waters

With the wallabies watching on, Normie Rowe and his band entertained almost 300 home owners and invited guests at a recent ‘Concert in the Park’ at Halcyon Waters. The perfect venue for outdoor concerts, Celebration Park is normally home to the quiet sounds of nature, but when Normie and the boys got into ‘Shakin’ All Over’ nature moved aside to make way for the Halcyon Groupies who danced and sang along.

For the picnic set, the skies were blue and a perfect Autumn afternoon unfolded with the help of the coldest beers and the finest chardonnay, not to mention the ice creams and soft drinks for the grandkids. Singing along with Normie was the perfect way to enjoy the backdrop of Celebration Park and celebrate once again Halcyon’s award winning year, tucking under its belt another two State and one National title since last year’s celebration with Ian “Turps” Turpie.

To everyone’s amusement a golf pitching competition provided the biggest challenge, apart from getting the men to dance! A man made island green placed close enough to tempt, but far enough away to tease, was the target for several prizes. Over 700 attempts were had, with only a handful hitting the miniature floating green and no one hitting the perfect pitch. Nonetheless, fun was had and the lake was all the richer with floating golf balls.

To top off the entertainment for the afternoon, helicopter joy rides were enjoyed by many home owners who got a birds eye view of the North Shore and Hope Island from the air before landing back at Halcyon Waters.

Normie as ever the professional entertainer mingled and sang all afternoon providing what could be Halcyon’s best Celebration in the Park yet. As one Halcyon Waters home owner who has attended all the Halcyon events commented, “We love these days in the park. It’s a great chance for our special community to get together, let our hair down and have some fun… I can’t wait for the next one!”
